About The Position

The CT Tech position is a part-time role located in Glen Ellyn, focusing on performing a variety of complex diagnostic CT procedures. The role requires the technician to complete diagnostic studies from inception to completion under the direction of a radiologist. The technician will be responsible for performing routine CTs and CTAs, taking accurate verbal patient histories, and starting IVs to administer IV contrast. The position emphasizes maintaining a positive imaging environment for patients and acting as a liaison between patients and the radiologist.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited education program in radiology technology required.
  • ARRT Registered Technologist, RT(CT) certification required.
  • Current IEMA license required.
  • BLS -- Basic Life Support, AED Adult & Pediatric CPR required.
  • Minimum one year CT related experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of complex diagnostic CT procedures under the direction of the radiologist.
  • Complete diagnostic studies from inception to completion.
  • Perform routine CTs and CTAs, take accurate verbal patient histories, and start IVs to administer IV contrast.
  • Maintain a positive imaging environment for patients and act as a patient liaison to the radiologist.
  • Conduct computer applications/scanning and quality control on the scanner.
  • Handle daily paperwork and protocoling.
  • Take detailed patient histories and ensure radiation safety by keeping exposure to ALARA levels.
  • Administer IV and oral contrast according to site-specific protocols under the guidance of the radiologist.
  • Provide the radiologist with quality networked images and interact professionally with radiologists, site managers, clerical staff, and patients.
  • Perform ordered examinations of appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols.
  • Maintain patient care, comfort, and safety during exams.
  • Maintain technical competency through continued education and participation in training programs.
  • Perform equipment quality checks, troubleshoot problems, and maintain a clean environment.
  • Complete necessary protocolling tasks and follow quality assurance guidelines while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Comply with Duly Health and Care CT Imaging policies/procedures and all safety policies and regulations, including radiation safety.
  • Maintain current IEMA license for CT and complete 24 hours of CE every 2 years.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
