About The Position

The position involves performing all Computed Tomography exams and conducting quality control procedures as required by the manufacturer. The individual will evaluate all orders, verify them with the radiologist if needed, and ensure the correct exam is performed. Proper screening of all patients to check for contraindications for oral or IV contrast is essential. The role requires interaction with hospital staff and nursing departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts, assisting in resolutions. The individual is responsible for maintaining performance skills and may routinely work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on an on-call/call-back status when needed.

Requirements

  • Must have current BCLS certification.
  • 2 years prior Computed Tomography and/or Radiographer experience preferred.
  • Membership in a related professional organization preferred.
  • Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology.
  • Licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in the State of Texas.
  • ARRT Certification (R) in Radiology required.
  • ARRT Certification (C) in Computed Tomography required.
  • Minimum experience of performing extremities, thorax, abdomen, spine, skull exams.
  • Familiarity with utilizing a C-Arm.
  • Able to be trained in Computed Tomography.
  • Able to operate a power injector.
  • Able to perform various parts of the body from head to lower extremities.
  • Familiarity with contraindications for contrast.
  • Able to utilize critical thinking to ensure the proper procedure is being performed.
