Requirements

  • CPR certification.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, patient positioning, equipment protocols, radiation safety, radiation protection and basic patient care.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English with patients to explain procedures while making them as comfortable as possible.
  • Ability to follow and comply with directions procedures, policies and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with medical staff, personnel, students, and patients.
  • Ability to read, write and speak clearly in English.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma.
  • Enrollment in a formal radiologic tech program.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a medical office.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating with patients and preparing them for the exam.
  • Patient film and report coordination.
  • Stocking supplies.
  • Following all Quality Control policies and procedures for compliance with departmental, local, state and federal regulations.
  • Using radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations, hospital policy, and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
  • Greeting patients politely and efficiently.
  • Delivering patients to examination rooms.
  • Taking thorough and accurate patient medical histories as directed.
  • Clearly explaining procedures to patients in English and seeking out interpreter services if needed.
  • Setting up examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning.
  • Making patients as comfortable and relaxed as possible.
  • Monitoring patients' conditions and reactions, reporting abnormal signs to physician.
  • Assisting with the completion of documents and treatment records, and delivering documents to PACS.
  • Assisting other medical team and administrative staff members in conducting special procedures or completing administrative duties.
  • Performing all duties with strict adherence to and compliance with government regulations, hospital policies and procedures, and safety/ALARA guidelines.
  • Meeting established productivity standards.
  • Facilitating and promoting the sharing of knowledge and content throughout departments.
  • Taking responsibility for ensuring that all work outcomes satisfy the UMass Memorial Health System True North.
  • Supporting the mission, vision, and goals of HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital and serving as a role model for CARES values.
  • Adhering to change control processes.
  • Participating in cross training to optimize department resources.
  • Demonstrating excellent attendance and actively participating in a variety of meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Demonstrating a friendly, responsive, service-minded attitude to all internal and external customers.
  • Communicating ideas effectively and sharing information.
  • Adhering to the HealthAlliance Hospital Code of Conduct and Behavior Standards and dress code.
  • Complying with established environment of care/safety policies and procedures and all health and safety requirements.
  • Maintaining and fostering an organized, clean and safe work environment.
  • Contributing to the development and application of process improvements.
  • Maintaining a collaborative, team relationship with peers and colleagues.
  • Attending staff meetings and in-service programs as required or directed.
  • Practicing cost containment and fiscal responsibility through the efficient use of supplies, equipment, time, etc.
  • Complying with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Attending variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
  • Demonstrating use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
  • Complying with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Respecting diverse views and approaches, demonstrating Standard of Respect.
  • Maintaining regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Performing other similar and related duties as required or directed.
