The CT Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides overnight clinical care for cardiothoracic surgery patients, supporting safe and continuous management in the ICU and step‑down settings. The NP/PA conducts focused assessments, manages acute changes in patient status, orders appropriate diagnostics, responds to emergent situations, and communicates key updates to the on‑call surgical team. Candidates must be licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, and NPs must hold Acute Care NP certification. CT surgery or critical care experience is preferred. ACLS and BLS certifications are required, along with strong clinical judgment and the ability to manage high‑acuity patients independently. This position is a night‑shift role, typically twelve-hour shifts. This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.
