About The Position

CT weekend leader for Inpatient Position hours: Friday, Saturday, Sunday; 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Supervises, coordinates and staffs CT areas within Imaging Services among the Roanoke based facilities. Provides quality service to all customers in a caring and professional manner. Promotes team building and supports departmental goals, objectives and mission. Performs procedures and provides care and services to patients of all ages. Direct supervision of departments operation, work of staff, training and human resources. Demonstrates leadership, team-building and employee development skills. Provides direction, support, coaching and mentoring for team members.Organizes and oversees daily operations and activities, and timekeeping functions for assigned areas. Determines staff coverage so service is not affected during 24-hour operation. Supervises preparation and readiness of department for inspection by Joint Commission and the American College of Radiology. Responsible for interviewing and hiring of employee candidates, performance evaluation, corrective action, problem solving and dismissal of staff. Reviews and establishes policies and procedures for assigned area. Responsible for cost-effective materials management to include the ordering and effective utilization of supplies. Complies with all Imaging Services policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Maintains appropriate registry by obtaining required CEUs. Enhances personal professional growth through participation in educational opportunities. Makes regular visits to physician practices to provide information on CT services, encourages utilization of CT, and gains feedback from the physicians concerning service offerings. Communicates concerns to Director; offers suggestions on ways to improve service needs. Fulfills technologist responsibilities, conducts procedures and maintains clinical and professional competency. Applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients served.

Requirements

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent education required.
  • Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Experience: Five years of functional knowledge and experience in diagnostic radiology and demonstrated leadership skills and abilities required.
  • Licensure/certification: ARRT registry in CT required.
  • AHA BLS-HCP required.
  • Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required.
  • Knowledge and prior use of computers.

  • Prefer Associates Degree in Science.
