PRIMARY FUNCTION: • The primary function is performance of all phases of CT Scan Testing. Work is performed on outpatients in accordance with established procedures and protocols of the department and under the direction of the Radiologist. • Perform other diagnostic imaging exams as skills permit. • Perform clerical and scheduling duties as needed.
Requirements
- Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology required (two-year accredited program).
- Completion of ARRT registry in CT scan required (achieved within two years of hire).
- State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.
- Completion of formal and/or on the job training on cross sectional anatomy.
- An Associate’s degree is required; candidates are required to obtain their Associates of Science degree (can be substituted within a related field), within three (3) years of their start date as outlined in the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.
- Certification in CPR.
- Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.
- Completion of IV training course.
- State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.
- The successful completion of the CT Registry exam is a job requirement. A technologist, who is recruited and non-certified, will have a grace period of 2 years following hire to pass this exam.
