About The Position

The position involves taking x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and providing support for the imaging department. The role includes performing plain films, fluoro, portables, and OR exams, as well as Bone Density exams (BD registry required). The schedule includes working on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 AM to 7:30 PM and Mondays from 11 AM to 11:30 PM. A sign-on bonus of $15,000 is offered, paid in full on the first paycheck. The pay range starts at $30.93 per hour, with additional shift differentials for weekend work.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Radiology Technology program.
  • ARRT-R certification within 6 months of hire date.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

  • Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provides appropriate educational material.
  • Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures.
  • Prepares patients for radiology exams by positioning them for the procedure.
  • Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent unnecessary exposure.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice.
  • Observes patients during procedures and reports any abnormal activity.
  • Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.
  • Ensures prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS.
  • Ensures equipment is functioning properly and reports any potential problems.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms and storage areas.
  • May perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when CT Technologist is not on site.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
