About The Position

The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of imaging procedures, including CT and X-Rays, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. The role involves providing technical assistance and supportive patient care to assist the physicians, nurses, and other technical and administrative staff in meeting the needs of individual patients throughout the facility. The position is based in a 16 bed Small-Format Hospital and operates on a dayshift schedule from 7 AM to 7 PM.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiology Technology.
  • Certified as a medical radiologic technologist as required by the state in which practicing.
  • Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Proficiency with most X-ray/CT equipment, manufacturer’s hardware/software and PACS.
  • Fluency in English; written and oral communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in Radiology.
  • CT Certification.
  • CT certification required within 12 months of hire (Pennsylvania market).
  • Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in computed tomography.
  • 2+ years radiologic/imaging experience.
  • 1+ years of CT experience.
  • 1+ years of emergency room experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain all imaging department equipment including X-Ray, CT, CR reader, and PACS.
  • Perform all imaging exams in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Notify the physician on duty of the results of imaging exams.
  • Perform basic clinical procedures under the direction of the physician and/or nurse on duty.
  • Maintain all required documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in paper and electronic formats.
  • Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables to perform quality testing.
  • Perform routine maintenance and function checks on all imaging equipment.
  • Perform Quality Control as established by the laboratory.
  • Perform Proficiency Testing and/or Split Sample analysis periodically.
  • Retain records of all analytic activities performed for a minimum of two years.
  • Perform all Quality Assessment activities assigned to this position.
  • Perform duties as ER Technician as needed.
  • Travel to all facility locations as required.
  • Attend staff meetings or other company-sponsored or mandated meetings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
