The Cleveland Clinic Marymount Hospital Department of Imaging team has the skills and expertise to provide the full spectrum of imaging services. From routine scans to in-depth evaluations, patients have access to every test they may need within our health system. As a CT/MRI Scan Technologist Assistant on this team, you will perform a variety of supportive tasks, including dispensing of department stock, stocking rooms daily, preparing oral contrast and exam data entry. In this role, you will promote a patient-driven philosophy, exhibiting positive behavior that supports and enhances their care experience. This position is an excellent entry into the healthcare field at Cleveland Clinic. A caregiver in this position works day/evening rotation and 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Sundays + on-call. Hours may vary

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with emphasis on communication, computer skills and science courses
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Computer skills, broad knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy, organized, and good interpersonal skills with all customer groups in a fast-paced environment.

  • One year of experience in a healthcare related field OR current radiology student

Responsibilities

  • Assure rooms are set up properly before beginning of procedure.
  • Clean rooms promptly post-procedure.
  • Assure patient modesty and comfort, assist patients with changing, answer call lights as appropriate and report any change in patient's condition or behavior.
  • Assure patient is discharged to appropriate destination.
  • Check proper identification of patient per policy and create patient identification bands.
  • Schedule scans and watch queue.
  • Verify physician exam order, look at needs of patient and initiate communication and inpatient flow.
  • Document patient history, conditions and any other pertinent information on requisition/history sheet and ensure all data is entered into the computer on day of exam, including nonprocedural changes, additional exams, and order revision.
  • Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS, when applicable knowledge in after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork immediately reporting any malfunctions to Help Desk and PACS Administrator.
  • Follow Radiation/MRI Safety Guidelines.
  • Operate all equipment properly and with care.
  • Maintain ethical and professional relationships with all customers, demonstrating cooperative efforts with coworkers and the ability to accept constructive criticism.
  • Assess the patient's readiness and need for learning, considering all aspects of diversity and inclusion.
  • Determine the best methodology to deliver education and receive verbal feedback or return demonstration to validate learning.
  • Provide verbal and/or written instructions for tests/procedures, diagnoses, and discharge when appropriate.
