At the Cleveland Clinic Florida Department of Imaging, our team has the skills and expertise to provide the full spectrum of imaging services. From routine scans to in-depth evaluations, patients have access to every test they may need within our health system. As a CT/MRI Scan Technologist Assistant on this team, you will perform a variety of supportive tasks, including dispensing of department stock, stocking rooms daily, preparing oral contrast and exam data entry, providing direct care and enhancing customer satisfaction. This role is an excellent entry into healthcare and offers the opportunity to learn from some of the best caregivers in the field. A caregiver in this position works varying shifts. PRN caregivers in this role work at least two 12-hour shifts per week, which may include Saturday and Sunday day shifts, with occasional overnight hours. The schedule will be provided a month in advance to confirm availability for open shifts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED OR Current Radiology Student
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and CT/MRI procedures.
  • Ensure rooms are set up properly before beginning of procedure and clean rooms in a timely manner post-procedure.
  • Report any change in patient condition or behavior.
  • Ensure patient modesty and comfort, assist patients with dressing changes and answer call lights as appropriate.
  • Ensure the patient is discharged to the appropriate destination.
  • Check proper identification of patient per policy and create patient identification bands.
  • Assist in positioning, lifting and transporting of patients.
  • Prepare oral contrast, schedule scans and watch the queue.
  • Verify physician exam orders, look at needs of patient and initiate communication and inpatient flow.
  • Document patient history, condition and any other pertinent information on requisition/history sheet and ensure all data is entered into the computer on day of exam, including nonprocedural changes, additional exams and order revision.
  • Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS, when applicable.
  • Perform front desk administrative duties, answer phones and maintain department files.
  • Operate all equipment properly and with care, immediately report any malfunctions, necessary adjustments and complete necessary documentation.
  • Assess the patient's readiness and need for learning, considering all aspects of diversity and inclusion.
  • Provide verbal and/or written instructions for tests/procedures, diagnoses and discharge when appropriate.
