About The Position

The CT & MRI Radiologic Technologist operates imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images of patients' bodies, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. This role emphasizes patient care, effective communication, and collaboration with radiologists to meet patient needs and expectations.

Requirements

  • Minimum six months of recent computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging experience.
  • High school graduation or GED required.
  • Successful completion of an approved training program in radiologic technology.
  • Currently registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in CT and MR.
  • Ability to operate CT and MRI equipment and perform related technical procedures.
  • Working knowledge of CT and MRI techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners to produce images of specified areas of the body.
  • Instruct patients on preparation for examinations and explain procedures courteously.
  • Administer contrast media under physician direction and position patients for optimal imaging.
  • Monitor patients during sedation under the supervision of an Imaging RN.
  • Ensure patient safety by complying with quality, safety, and emergency policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and operate image recording equipment and ensure accurate patient information in the Radiology Information System.
  • Conduct daily/monthly quality control of CT/MRI procedures and maintain equipment in a clean condition.
  • Prepare and maintain CT/MRI records and files, entering statistics into the computer.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, demonstrating courteous telephone skills and accurate written communication.
  • Assess patient needs based on age-specific requirements and provide appropriate care.
