The new University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty department of Radiology is seeking an Imaging Technologist to perform and teach specialized general diagnostic radiography procedures utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam. Perform general radiography procedures in multiple areas within the hospital including Adult and Pediatric Radiology, Dexa, emergency room, OR, fluoroscopy and orthopedic clinic. Duties Include: Perform radiography procedures using a variety of imaging equipment. Operate fixed and portable radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic imaging studies. Provide instruction to trainees, students and other medical staff on operation and safety precautions. Has knowledge and understanding of key Service Excellence principles for interactions with patients and staff. Establish rapport with patient and provide information about how the exam is performed and what is required of the patient. Utilize standard safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risks to patients, personnel, and equipment. Prepare and administer contrast material to patients under radiologist’s supervision as required.
