Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved American Medical Association School of Radiologic Technology required.
  • One year experience in CT or a graduate from an approved CT/MRI program preferred.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Radiography (R) required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Computed Tomography (CT) required.
  • Current Medical Radiographer license for work state required.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and interact with patients and family members.
  • Strong knowledge in cross sectional anatomy for CT exams and abnormalities of exams is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provides care for the optimal patient experience.
  • Actively looking for ways to help people to optimize the customer experience.
  • Conveys information effectively with empathy, compassion, and respect.
  • Gives full attention to what other people are saying, asking questions as appropriate.
  • Ensures patient comfort and understanding of ordered exam.
  • Shows confidence and competency in all age specific categories.
  • Performs time out prior to procedure start.
  • Assists surgeon/radiologist with surgery/special procedures.
  • Ensures optimal visualization of anatomy by directing radiographic equipment.
  • Matches digital images to Radiology Information System (RIS) orders.
  • Documents medications and allergies.
  • Maintains positive and respectful relationship with team members.
  • Provides and monitors 'on the job training' per Methodist College Standards.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage department workflow as needed.
