ABEC’s products include process and equipment engineering/consulting services, comprehensive site services, and stainless steel and single use bioprocess equipment, including bioreactors and fermenters, filtration and chromatography systems, prep and hold systems, and cleaning/sterilization systems. Position Summary: The Director of Business Development (Americas) will act as a senior manager tasked with the job of helping ABEC to grow in North, South and Central America. This position’s priority is to assist ABEC in acquiring new customers and to sell additional products and services to our existing customer base.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 15 years post graduate in customer product management environment.
  • Training in product technical fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Creative talents and the ability to solve tough problems.
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry and its current events.
  • The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organization.
  • Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Demonstrates patience with reluctant clients.

Nice To Haves

  • Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus.
  • Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build go to market strategy and corporate sales plan.
  • Devises new and innovative ways to market product and service in target markets.
  • Identify and participate in the hiring of direct sales or local representatives.
  • Manage direct sales personnel and representatives, supporting their commercial efforts.
  • Research organizations to identify new leads and potential new markets.
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives.
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events as needed.
  • Fully understand the customer’s decision process and drive the process to closure.
  • Works to foster lasting relationships with clients.
  • Direct business development including development of relationships with key decision makers.
  • Direct across functional teams at multiple levels within ABEC and the customer to build relationships and present the best solution.
  • Monitor and report on BioPharm industry trends.
  • Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity.
  • Execute other tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
