About The Position

Performs tasks related to the processing of all instrument sets used in the Operating Room, Women’s Center OR and all sterile, reusable items used in patient care. Assembles and delivers surgical case carts to the distribution area. Initiates, monitors and records various monitoring devices used in the quality control procedures for sterilization. Performs any other job-related duties as requested by the Manager or Director. CSP Tech I: High School diploma or equivalent; ability to work independently & in a team; be attentive to detail & maintain a positive attitude; ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously & prioritize a work schedule; ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner; ability to understand surgical/ medical terminology. CSP Tech II: At least 1-year experience required or have completed surgical technology or central sterile processing program with applicable certification. Deliver one in-service or participate on one special project per year under the manager/director's guidance. Serves as a positive role model for students and other team members. Ability to troubleshoot routine problems with CSP equipment. CSP Tech III: Must be a graduate of a program for Surgical Technicians and hold Certification administered by the NBSTSA or complete appropriate military training program for surgical technology or provide evidence of employment to practice surgical technology in a health care facility in SC prior to 1/1/2008 or is in the service of the federal government, to the extent the person is performing duties related to that service.
