About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced CSFA - Operating Room (OR) for a 13-week travel assignment in Midland, MI. Assignment: Days, 6:30 AM - 5 PM (10-Hour Days) / 1-2 nights of call per week & Every 4th Weekend (36-Hour Guarantee) Start Date: 4/13/2026 Contract: 13 weeks - Tuesday start dates! Location: Midland, MI EMR: Epic Dress Code: Hospital-Provided Scrubs Weekend Requirements: Every 4th Weekend On Call Requirements: 1-2 nights of call per week & Every 4th Weekend Hourly Pay: $28.00 Non-taxed Stipend: $1190.00 Weekly Total Pay: $1946.00 This position prepares the surgical suite for the procedure by assisting the surgical technologist, along with the registered nurse, in gathering equipment, instruments, and supplies to perform the procedure. Assure all supplies and equipment are available for the procedure and in working condition. This position assists the surgeon in the care of the patient while in the operating room through providing exposure, aiding in hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with maximum results for the patient. In providing proper draping, retracting, suctioning, sponging, suturing, tissue handling, and cautery techniques. The assistant will apply appropriate dressing material specific to the procedure. This position assists the surgeon in the care of the patient while in the operating room through the utilization of the operating room team concept.

Requirements

  • 5+ Years of Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) Experience is required
  • NBSTSA is required
  • Active American Heart Association BLS is required
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability
  • Drug screen and background check (facility required)
  • Additional facility onboarding forms as assigned

  • Prior Travel Assignment History is preferred

Responsibilities

  • (50%) Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedure, anatomy and physiology, and operative techniques related to the specific procedure.
  • (20%) Assures all necessary supplies, equipment, or instruments are open or available. Ensure items are charged appropriately by confirming with the nurse and the surgical technologist.
  • (20%) Assists the physician as directed with proper positioning, draping, retracting, suctioning, sponging, tissue handling, cautery techniques, stapling devices, and suturing.
  • (10%) Assists team members in transportation, positioning and total care of patients.
