About The Position

The CSA Engineer is responsible for the civil, structural, and architectural project support of multi-million-dollar power generation facilities or other types of industrial projects. In this role, you will review the Engineer of Record’s (EOR) documents & drawings for the jobsite, including specifications, state & local building codes, vendor drawings, and geotechnical reports. You will also work closely with the project team in proposal development, particularly in civil & structural areas, and participate in customer meetings & presentations. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in the power generation industry or with an EPC, or familiarity with large-scale/industrial construction. We are seeking someone with a strong work ethic & attention to detail, the ability to work independently or in a group to meet deadlines, and effective communication skills.

Requirements

4-year degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural, or Environmental Engineering, or a similar field.
2+ years of experience in thermal energy (combined-cycle or simple-cycle) power plant construction, or other large-scale industrial projects.
Familiar with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Proficient with standard computer programs, particularly Microsoft Excel and Adobe PDF.
Effective prioritization & independent problem-solving skills.
Must possess excellent verbal & written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team.
Punctual & reliable with a commitment to daily attendance.
Must be self-driven and adaptable to quickly changing circumstances.
Occasional travel to project sites and to meet with vendors required (~10%).

Responsibilities

Review isometric drawings and specifications from vendors.
Review geotechnical reports and EOR documents and drawings.
Support project site teams with Requests for Information (RFIs).
Review subcontractor design and shop drawings.
Identify discrepancies in scope of work, contract, plans, or specifications and obtain resolution.
Document change order requests.
Review order forms for equipment such as pipes, valves, etc.
Support proposal efforts in civil design and quantities.
Perform quantitative tracking and report work progress weekly with Project Controls team.
Ensure federal, state, and local compliance codes, compliance of drawings, and permit drawings.
