About The Position

HG USA is hiring for a CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) Engineer in Chesapeake, VA. The CSA Engineer will be responsible for executing civil, structural, and architectural aspects of the construction phase, ensuring compliance with the project schedule, Construction Methodology, and quality requirements. The role involves working closely with multiple stakeholders, including Authority, supervision consultants, contractors, and the client, to ensure the seamless execution of project deliverables in accordance with design documents and the Project Implementation Plan (PIP).

Requirements

  • BE / BS Engineering in Civil Engineering.
  • 5-7 years of experience in construction projects.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a technical or engineering role in the CM context.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing facility projects with a similar scale.

Responsibilities

  • Support and contribute to CSA engineering tasks in collaboration with the CM Project Control Team, Supervision Team, and Contractors.
  • Assist in managing Civil, Structural, and Architectural Works (including Outfitting Work, Façade, etc.) with the Supervision Consultant, Designers, and Contractors.
  • Help manage CSA Work Schedule and Progress, including partial hand-over schedules for Client-Procured Construction/Equipment.
  • Assist in overseeing CSA Design Changes throughout the construction phase, collaborating with CM Technical Support, Designers, AOR, Supervision Consultant, and Contractors.
  • Contribute to addressing technical, quality, and safety issues related to CSA Works.
  • Assist in preparing periodic and non-periodic reports regarding CSA work progress and technical issues.
  • Develop design, schedule, technical, quality, and safety document submission and approval procedures for CSA Structural Works.
  • Assist in preparing the Overall Baseline Schedule for the Contractors development in collaboration with the Client and the CM Technical Team.
  • Support the review and approval of the Project Master Schedule submitted by Contractors.
  • Assist in reviewing and approving the procurement and installation schedule for Long Lead items.
  • Help develop the overall Taking-over schedule and Partial Hand-over schedule by Zoning Plan based on the Project Master Schedule.
  • Collaborate on managing permits and licenses schedules for Building Completion Certificates.
  • Review CSA Design for Construction before issuing it to the Contractor.
  • Assist in managing CSA design, including the Contractors shop drawing and as-built drawings.
  • Explore deviations between Tender Design and Construction Design to assess cost and time impacts on the project.
  • Help manage CSA changes concerning cost and time impacts on the Project Budget and Progress.
  • Contribute to Value Engineering (VE) and cost reduction investigations related to design changes.
  • Assist in preparing deviation reports between Tender Design and Construction Design.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues in collaboration with the Design/Supervision Consultant and Contractors.
  • Support the review and approval of all technical issues related to CSA Work submitted by the Supervision Consultant and Contractors.
  • Contribute to the review and approval of all quality documents, including Inspection Test Plans (ITP) related to CSA Work.
  • Assist in reviewing and approving safety issues related to CSA Works.
  • Contribute to the review and approval of Site Logistic Plans for construction.
  • Assist in preparing periodic reports on CSA Work progress versus plan, the status of changes, and the submission & approval status of technical issues.
