The Crystallization Scientist will support crystallization process development through laboratory experiments, including solubility screening, kinetic solubility, metastable zone width measurements, and laboratory-scale crystallization. This role involves hands-on generation of solid-state characterization data using techniques such as powder X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). The scientist will also analyze product samples for key physical properties like particle size distribution and particle shape using optical microscopy and laser diffraction particle size analysis. Additionally, the position requires supporting technical initiatives, which may include the design, installation, repair, and maintenance of specialized laboratory equipment. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with multitasking, independent, systematic, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and have good written communication skills, including experience with electronic laboratory notebooks, relational databases, and complex spreadsheets.
