About The Position

  • Demonstrate ability to maintain effective relationships and to work with others including Board members, faculty/staff, parents, pastors, and others in the educational community.
  • Collaborate and contribute responsibly to the classroom, teaching team, faculty/staff, and administration.
  • Participate in training required by school accreditation for the assistant role, including ACSI Early Learning Foundations Course, CPR and First Aid training.
  • Participate in professional development related to school goals, student learning, and personal professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Open or Close the Crossroads Campus daily, unlocking/locking appropriate areas.
  • Complete opening or closing routines, including setting out and putting up daily office technology.
  • Greet students, parents, and guests.
  • Redirect guests to appropriate church personnel.
  • Maintain school security by staffing the front desk.
  • Direct parent concerns to the lead teacher or to the Early Education Director.
  • Maintain an inventory of office and other needed supplies, and report it to the Early Education Director.
  • Attend in-service training and continuing education training, and apply it to daily routines.
  • Be prepared for emergency drills, knowing procedures outlined in the Emergency Preparedness Manual.
  • Perform other school-related duties as requested by the director or designee.
  • Assist in the supervision of groups of students as directed by the teacher or Early Education Director.
  • Actively engage with students and be proactive in supervision to maintain a positive flow of instruction and an overall environment of safety within all areas of the school, including recess, lunch, restroom breaks, field trips and after school events.
  • Complete training required to implement best practices with regard to cleaning and sanitizing procedures
  • Follow and/or develop a cleaning and sanitizing schedule that ensures safe learning environments for young children.
  • Serve as the Health Coordinator as needed, including:
  • Keep current on CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Uphold the schools medical, health, and wellness policies
  • Document all medical and first aid services, incidences and injuries provided to students and staff complying with state and county standards
  • Care for sick and/or injured students, contacting parents if necessary
  • Keep first aid supplies stocked and up to date
  • Prepare Emergency Response Bags with medications that travel with students for field trips.
  • Manage the campus lunch program; including:
  • Periodically evaluate the quality of food, being mindful of ECS School Wellness Policy
  • Breakfast Program; ensure milk, juice, and cereal are ready for before care Receive daily lunch counts and place all lunch orders.
  • Stock and rotate all lunch supplies, milk, and snack supplies (for BASC) as well as a few cleaning supplies.
  • Distribute and record after school care snacks and milks.
