About The Position

SUMMARY: To help provide for and insure the security and protection of all students and staff, while crossing the streets ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist children in crossing streets on the way to and from school at assigned times and locations Attempt to cross all pedestrians including non-students as required by law Interact with children, staff and community members on a positive basis Placement and removal of speed signs and reporting maintenance needs when required Learn and follow state law and adopted procedures regarding the operation of school crossings. Protect safety of children at all times while on duty Report student safety infractions Report license numbers of vehicles violating safety regulations Monitor and report infractions of state laws regarding school zones Have and maintain district supplied equipment Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality Employee is required to maintain reasonable awareness of pedestrian, vehicular, and other traffic in all directions. Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints ( IVP ) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC)
  • KNOWLEDGE OF: Standard practices, methods and materials of assigned work.
  • Occupational hazards and applicable safety principles and practices.
  • Uses and properties of supplies and equipment.
  • Customer service principles.
  • Specialized equipment relevant to area of assignment.
  • Modern office technology.
  • SKILL IN: Following directions and meeting standards.
  • Providing attention to detail in assignments.
  • Comprehending reference books and manuals.
  • Organizing and maintaining supplies.
  • Providing customer service.
  • Utilizing a computer and relevant software applications.
  • Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Responsibilities
