SUMMARY: Guide or control vehicular or pedestrian traffic at such places as streets and schools. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job; not all tasks may be performed by each employee. Duties and assignments may vary based on location assignment and academic year. The following frequencies and percentage of time spent are approximations only. Direct or escort pedestrians across streets, stopping traffic as necessary. Stay within the crosswalk and never crosses diagonally in order to ensure liability protection. [Daily, 40%] Monitor traffic flow to locate safe gaps through which pedestrians can cross streets. [Daily, 15%] Communicate traffic and crossing rules and other information to students and adults. [Daily, 15%] Distribute traffic control signs and markers at designated points. [Daily, 5%] Direct traffic movement or warn of hazards, using signs, flags, lanterns, and hand signals. [Daily, 5%] Report incidents involving students to the building principal. [Daily, 5%] Record license numbers of vehicles disregarding traffic signals, and report infractions to appropriate supervisor. [Daily, 5%] Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%]
