About The Position

Goldbelt Security's Alaska Operations provides services throughout Alaska that include intermittent security needs. Goldbelt Security (AK Ops) is a separate arm of Goldbelt Security, LLC, operating out of Juneau and reporting to the VP of Alaska Operations. The position is responsible for guiding and controlling traffic activity at assigned crossing areas in order to provide safe crossing for pedestrians, as well as other assistance to visitors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• All applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to obtain a Flagger Certificate issued by the State of Alaska.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to learn, understand, and follow oral and written instructions/directions.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
• Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and assistance on a daily basis.
• Knowledge in safety issues related to traffic activity.
• Ability to be outdoors in incremental weather conditions.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in all types of weather.
• Ability to cover assigned shifts between the hours of 8am and 7pm daily as determined by the cruise ship schedule.

Nice To Haves

• Current CPR and first aid certificates.
• Drug testing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Guide or control vehicular or pedestrian traffic at specified crossing areas.
• Direct actions of pedestrians and traffic at intersections.
• Escort pedestrians across street/crosswalk.
• Direct movement of traffic through site, using signs, flags, and hand signals.
• Provide assistance to downtown visitors.
• Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Benefits

• Starting Pay at Begins at $20.50.
• Applicant with valid flagger certificate 1-3 years' experience, $21.75 starting wage.
• Applicant with valid flagger certificate 4+ years of experience, $22.00 to $24.75 starting wage.
• Goldbelt Security will pay for testing of flagger certification.
• Provides required safety vests and raingear (not rain boots).
