About The Position

The position involves directing the action of children and traffic at assigned crosswalks to ensure safe crossing of students. The essential functions of the job include reporting consistently for work as scheduled, performing other duties as assigned, and attaining proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards. The incumbent will direct the action of children at an assigned crosswalk, escort children across the street and parking lots, issue verbal warnings, report misconduct, and maintain communication with relevant authorities regarding incidents that could impact pedestrian safety. The role also includes monitoring student behavior and supervising parking lots and school grounds.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• First Aid/CPR certification from American Heart Association, Red Cross, etc.

Responsibilities

• Directs action of children at an assigned crosswalk to ensure safe crossing.
• Directs visitors to the office.
• Escorts children across the street and parking lots.
• Issues verbal warnings and reports misconduct.
• Maintains communication with the building principal and law enforcement regarding safety incidents.
• Monitors student behavior for compliance with district rules.
• Supervises parking lots and school grounds.
