Requirements

  • Minimum age 18 (mandatory)
  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or
  • 6+ months of related experience and / or training, or
  • Combination of equivalent education / training
  • Completion of Company Orientation and Safety Training
  • Strong knowledge of departments, including quality standards, set-up, operation, cleaning, and maintenance of all equipment
  • Knowledge of computer systems (Symbol, ACR, label machine)
  • Strong planning and organizing skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Verbal / written communication and reading skills
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively to Partners and customers
  • Ability to adapt to performing a wide range of duties across multiple departments
  • Ability to work well independently
  • Strong eye for detail
  • Function in a fast-paced, retail environment, requiring detailed and precise tasks
  • Work with Customers, staying attentive to their needs
  • Work flexible schedules

Responsibilities

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in absence of Leader
  • Trains Partners; directs work; addresses complaints; resolves issues; builds / follows up on plans and their execution
  • May assist with work schedules for department
  • Complies with Store and department SOPs, H-E-B policies, and applicable laws; ensures Partners comply as well
  • Performs Cross Functional duties frequently
  • Provides / coaches on superior customer service
  • Answers customer questions regarding products; assists them with selections
  • Uses suggestive selling techniques and advanced product knowledge and experience to meet customer needs and build department sales
  • Merchandises products effectively
  • Ensures compliance with departmental / Store SOPs for food safety and sanitation; ensures compliance with receiving-related guidelines / SOPs
  • Properly operates and maintains all equipment
