About The Position

The position is for a Part-Time Cross Country/Distance Coach (Adjunct) at St. Cloud State University. The successful candidate will assist the head coach with the day-to-day operations of a Division II Track and Field/Cross Country program. Responsibilities include organizing training plans, recruiting student-athletes, coordinating practice times, and engaging in community service and fundraising efforts. The position is unclassified and fixed-term, with compensation based on credit hours taught.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Coaching experience or playing experience at the collegiate level.
• Understanding of comprehensive duties of a collegiate coach.
• NCAA off-campus recruiting certification or ability to gain certification immediately.
• Evidence of the ability to work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
• Evidence of a valid driver's license or ability to acquire one.

Nice To Haves

• Master's Degree.
• Collegiate Coaching experience or Playing experience at NCAA DI, DII, or DIII level.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach with the day-to-day operations of a Division II Track and Field/Cross Country program.
• Organize weekly, monthly, and yearly training and skill development plans for distance events.
• Assist Full Time Staff in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
• Organize practice and training times in coordination with other staff.
• Communicate with student-athletes in the distance event group.
• Assist with athlete development.
• Assist with promotions and marketing of the program.
• Coordinate home track and field/cross country meets.
• Participate in community service projects.
• Engage in fundraising efforts.
• Build relationships with alumni of the track and field program.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA, Conference, and Institutional policies.
