About The Position

The Croft School is seeking outstanding Summer Camp Counselors to join our team. Each counselor will work alongside other counselors to oversee a group of 12–16 children. Counselors will receive guidance from our onsite Camp Director while also having the opportunity to create and implement child-centered activities. Counselors are expected to work five days per week, with schedules available from either: 7:45 am–3:45 pm or 9:00 am–5:00 pm Candidates with a pre-existing summer commitment of up to one week (e.g., travel) can be accommodated. Counselors are not expected to work all nine weeks, and a combination of weeks can be accommodated ahead of time. We are ideally looking for counselors who can work at least six weeks of camp, though we are open to hiring counselors who can only work several weeks. The ideal candidate has experience working with children in the Preschool through Kindergarten age range and is enthusiastic about creating engaging, fun, and safe experiences for young learners.

Requirements

Must be at least 17 years old and a rising high school senior or above.
Experience working with 3- to- 6-year-old children in a childcare, camp, or school setting
A contagious love for teaching, children, and nurturing students’ natural curiosity, instilling in them a lifelong passion for learning
An entrepreneurial spirit coupled with an ambitious work ethic.
Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, inclusive of empathy for others, thoughtful listening, team-orientation, and enthusiasm for working closely with other camp counselors
Ability to support the development of a joyous camp environment.
Ability to support and/or lead small-group activities.
Self-reflectiveness, humility, and an eagerness to continually improve one’s practice.
Current authorization to work in the United States is required.
