About The Position

Provides and administers anesthesia and provides pain management services under the direction, supervision and responsibility of the anesthesiologist.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Graduate of an accredited CRNA educational program recognized by the state committee of CRNAs and the Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Successful completion of the examination of the National Board for Certification of CRNA.
  • Able to communicate effectively in the English language.
  • Basic arithmetic skills are required.
  • Identifies and resolves problems promptly.
  • Must be computer literate. Intermediate computer skills required.
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) and APRN license and certification as a CRNA from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • Must also have a valid unexpired ACLS, PALS and BLS.
  • Able to listen and respond well to questions and feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.   • Performs patient evaluation and work up, including but not limited to; history and physical assessment, patient/family/caregiver education, routine laboratory, diagnostic, and physical therapy reports
  • Pre-Anesthesia Assessment: Collaborate with anesthesiologists to develop individualized anesthesia care plans, including obtaining informed consent.
  • Anesthesia Administration: Select, obtain, and administer anesthetic agents and medications, ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs and responses to anesthesia, making necessary adjustments to maintain stability.
  • Emergency Management: Respond to emergencies by assessing and stabilizing patients, including airway management and administering emergency medications.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
