About The Position

Explore an exciting opportunity with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist as we eagerly welcome a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our dynamic Inpatient Anesthesia Team in Winston Salem, NC. Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is a nationally recognized academic health system, and our Winston Salem Campus is a level 1 trauma center. While working in the Inpatient Anesthesia Department, you will expand your skillset by working on a wide variety of cases, including but not limited to: Orthopedic, Vascular, Burns, Cardiothoracic (specific team), Neurology, ENT, General/Abdominal, Robotic, Gynecology. Other cases you may experience, outside of the day-to-day, include: EP, IR, MRI, Burn Tank, Brachytherapy, and Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE).

Requirements

  • Graduation of an Accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program, Master’s Degree or Higher Required.
  • Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Currently Certified or Recertified to practice as a Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board.
  • Current CPR Certification – ACLS, BLS.
  • Ability to demonstrate clinical competency within the scope of granted privileges.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse clinical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia using safe and quality techniques during Inpatient Procedures.
  • Potential for and encouraged to precept Student Nurse Anesthetists – opportunity to mentor and assess these medical students.
  • Use medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plan to ensure peri-operative and anesthesia care, being sensitive to co-morbidities and age & developmental guidelines.
  • Collaborate with medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
  • Uphold patient safety, drive quality improvement, and promote infection prevention within job responsibilities and initiatives.
  • Document and maintain patient records in compliance with hospital standards, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Maintain scheduling flexibility, readiness, and punctuality to deliver timely patient care.
  • Exhibit professionalism through teamwork, collaboration, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Contribute to cost containment efforts by conserving resources.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
