About The Position

The CRNA position at Advocate Health involves providing daily operational control of anesthesia services for assigned areas, working closely with the charge anesthesiologist to ensure effective service delivery. The role includes acting as a clinical and didactic instructor for student nurse anesthetists, coordinating schedules, and managing departmental communications. The CRNA will also assist with inventory management of narcotics, facilitate changes in assignments, and oversee timecard documentation for payroll. Additionally, the position requires designing and implementing a comprehensive orientation program for new CRNA employees.

Requirements

  • NC RN licensure required.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nurse Anesthesia required.
  • CRNA licensure required.
  • 3 years CRNA experience within the Medical Center or 5 years of comparable experience in another facility/organization required.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily operational control of anesthesia services for assigned areas.
  • Work in conjunction with the charge anesthesiologist to coordinate anesthesia services.
  • Act as a clinical and/or didactic instructor for student nurse anesthetists.
  • Coordinate schedules for clinical coordinators and student nurse anesthetists.
  • Assist on-call CRNA with inventory of narcotics and prepare narcotic stock orders.
  • Facilitate changes such as additions, room assignments, and anesthetics.
  • Coordinate, review, authorize, and document department member's timecards for payroll submission.
  • Coordinate and record the department's communication system and ensure devices are functioning properly.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive orientation program for new CRNA employees.
