About The Position

Emory Specialty Associates (ESA) is seeking Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants (CAA) to join their team. This role involves assisting in the administration of anesthesia under the direction of an Anesthesiologist, managing pre- and post-anesthetic care, and participating in research projects. The position offers a full-time schedule with partial call and no night coverage, providing a balanced work-life environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) Master's Degree program.
  • Licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Georgia.
  • Certified by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) or National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
  • Must maintain biannual certification through the submission of Continuing Medical Education credits (CMEs).
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications from American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an academic healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with various anesthesia techniques and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of general and regional anesthesia to surgical and non-surgical patients under the direction of an Anesthesiologist.
  • Perform initial acute cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in life-threatening situations as directed by a physician.
  • Interpret and record patient's physiological and pharmacological status.
  • Assist the Anesthesiologist in gathering routine pre-op data.
  • Instruct others in principles and practices of anesthesia, respiratory care, and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as directed by the anesthesiologist.
  • Establish multi-parameter monitoring of patients prior to, during, and after anesthesia or in other acute care situations.
  • Manage pre- and post-anesthetic care, including ventilatory support of patients as assigned by an Anesthesiologist.
  • Manage ventilators and other respiratory care parameters as directed by the physician.
