About The Position

The Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM) is seeking Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants (CAA) to join their Surgical Specialties Team. This role involves administering anesthesia under the supervision of an Anesthesiologist, participating in a collaborative care team, and contributing to high-quality patient care in a variety of surgical specialties. The position requires a full-time commitment with a rotating schedule that includes nights and weekends, as well as participation in the Call Team.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) Master's Degree program.
  • Licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Georgia.
  • Certified by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) or National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
  • Must maintain biannual certification through the submission of Continuing Medical Education credits (CMEs).
  • BLS from American Heart Association (AHA) required; ACLS (AHA) may be required for some locations and/or services.

Nice To Haves

  • General and/or Transplant Anesthesia experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of general and regional anesthesia to surgical and non-surgical patients under the direction of an Anesthesiologist.
  • Perform initial acute cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in life-threatening situations as directed by a physician.
  • Instruct others in principles and practices of anesthesia, respiratory care, and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as directed by the Anesthesiologist.
  • Interpret and record patient's physiological and pharmacological status, assisting the Anesthesiologist in gathering routine pre-op data.
  • Establish multi-parameter monitoring of patients prior to, during, and after anesthesia or in other acute care situations.
  • Manage pre- and post-anesthetic care, including ventilator management/support as assigned by the Anesthesiologist.
