The Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM) Surgical Specialties Team is seeking to hire Anesthetists - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) - to become a vital part of Emory Healthcare's integrated academic healthcare system. This position involves working full-time with a rotating schedule that includes nights and weekends, and requires participation in the Call Team. The selected candidates will be responsible for assisting in the administration of general and regional anesthesia to surgical and non-surgical procedure patients under the direction of an Anesthesiologist. The role includes performing initial acute cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in life-threatening situations, instructing others in principles and practices of anesthesia, and interpreting and recording patients' physiological and pharmacological status. Anesthetists will also assist in gathering routine pre-operative data and may participate in research projects as directed by an Anesthesiologist. Establishing multi-parameter monitoring of patients prior to, during, and after anesthesia is a critical part of the job, which includes monitoring vital signs and managing pre- and post-anesthetic care, including ventilator management and other respiratory care parameters. Candidates should have a graduate degree from an accredited CRNA or CAA program and be licensed or eligible to practice in Georgia. Certification from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) or the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA) is required, along with maintaining biannual certification through Continuing Medical Education credits. The position offers a competitive salary range and a comprehensive benefits package, including paid parental leave, life insurance, retirement program options, and professional liability insurance.
