About The Position

The Cardiac Anesthetist Team at Emory University Hospital and Emory University Hospital Midtown is seeking Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants (CAAs) to join their integrated academic healthcare system. This role involves administering anesthesia for various surgical procedures, including cardiothoracic and transplant surgeries, while collaborating within an Anesthesia Care Team model to ensure high-quality patient care. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) Master's Degree program.
  • Licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Georgia.
  • Certified by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) or National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
  • Must maintain biannual certification through the submission of Continuing Medical Education credits (CMEs).
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Cardiothoracic, Transplant, and/or General Anesthesia is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of general and regional anesthesia to surgical and non-surgical patients under the direction of an Anesthesiologist.
  • Perform initial acute cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in life-threatening situations as directed by a physician.
  • Instruct others in principles and practices of anesthesia, respiratory care, and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as directed by the Anesthesiologist.
  • Interpret and record patient's physiological and pharmacological status, assisting the Anesthesiologist in gathering routine pre-op data.
  • Establish multi-parameter monitoring of patients prior to, during, and after anesthesia, including ECG and arterial blood gas determinations.
  • Manage pre- and post-anesthetic care, including ventilator management and other respiratory care parameters as assigned.
