About The Position

Works under the supervision of the Vascular Surgeons. Perform all outpatient diagnostic vascular ultrasound examinations, ensuring that all studies meet the established standards of the vascular surgeon and other involved referring physicians. Performs all vascular ultrasound and Doppler examinations, ensuring all studies meet the established standards of the radiologist, vascular surgeon and other involved referring physician to include carotid duplex, hemodialysis (AVF & AVG), aortoiliac duplex, peripheral arterial duplex (BPG & Stents), peripheral venous duplex, (DVT, vein mapping, insufficiency), visceral, arterial physiologic, EVAR evaluations, as well as additional exams within the vascular spectrum. Performs all other ultrasound/echo exams as needed. Follows prescribed techniques in administering general and specific studies. (Adjust equipment and positions patients). Provides appropriate information to patient and family during exams to provide a calming influence throughout the study. Transfers patient to table, position patient and assist patient at the end of the procedure. Performs all quality control procedures required, including surveys, quality control tests and other procedures required by federal regulations and the medical physicist. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology Program
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a vascular lab setting
  • 1 year: Registered Vascular Tech (RVT) certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within one (1) year of start date
  • Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within 14 calendar days of start date
  • Knowledge of Picture Archive Communication System (PACS)
  • Strong skill proficiency in performing a variety of vascular ultrasound exams
  • Ability to maintain standards on equipment for accrediting, state and/or federal agencies and ensures that all preventive maintenance occurs as scheduled and provides director/manager with information regarding all equipment failures
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with patients, families, visitors, Physicians and co-workers
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail
  • Ability to calculate and interpret numbers and analyze and synthesize data
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Recent and relevant experience or education in cardiovascular field including cardia sonography.
