Lead mechanical systems readiness for new capacity and ongoing reliability. Provide commissioning oversight, drive new site onboarding and transition, and execute site inspections/audits to uncover performance, efficiency, and reliability risks across chilled-water plants, CRAH/CRAC, cooling towers, heat-rejection systems, and controls/BMS. Ensure mechanical designs meet operational standards and that documentation and training are complete for Day 1 operations. Responsibilities: Commissioning oversight: Validate mechanical system performance and control sequences; track and close defects/punch-list items discovered pre-commissioning and during commissioning. Develop and conduct commissioning for infrastructure projects that are executed at operational datacenters. Conduct operational procedure validation during post turnover pre customer load deployment phase. Support the development of a robust process to standardize mechanical turnover documentation, ensure storage in the designated repository, and verify operator training and readiness. Site inspections / audits: Conduct site physicals and infrastructure assessments focused on mechanical reliability, efficiency, and risk; maintain and drive closure of mitigation plans. Design-to-operations bridge: Document field changes, communicate operational impacts to the gaining team, and ensure readiness gaps are closed prior to hand-off. Cross-functional coordination: Work with Design & Construction, Commissioning, Site Operations, and Reliability Engineering to align standards and continuously improve readiness playbooks. Provides continual evaluation of processes and procedures, responsible for suggesting methods to improve operation and efficiency of DC design and equipment. Qualifications: 7+ years in mission-critical facilities, with depth experience in chiller plants, CRAH/CRAC, heat rejection, and control systems/BMS. Working fluency with ASHRAE TC9.9 guidance, codes/standards for hydronics and ventilation, and commissioning methodologies. Hands-on experience with submittal reviews, sequence of operations, functional performance testing, and punch-list closeout. Strong documentation discipline and stakeholder communication; proven ability to drive multi-site mechanical programs. Strong analytical skills Experience and knowledge of testing and commissioning methodologies Experience with CMMS, DCIM/BMS integrations, and incident/RCA processes. Education / Certifications : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience. Work Environment: This role requires travel of up to 50% Willingness to be on-call for emergencies or after-hours troubleshooting.
