About The Position

Critical Lift Supervisor Qualifications: Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 5–7 years of experience in steel fabrication, heavy industrial construction, or crane-related operations Demonstrated experience planning and supervising critical or high-risk lifts in active industrial environments Technical Knowledge & Skills Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, lift plans, specifications, and crane load charts Strong understanding of rigging practices, lift engineering fundamentals, and crane operational limits Working knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, ASME, DOT, and applicable industry standards Certifications (Preferred or Required Based on Company Policy) NCCCO Rigger and/or Crane Operator certification (preferred) Formal Lift Director or Critical Lift Planning training (preferred) OSHA 30-Hour Construction (preferred) Communication & Leadership Strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated leadership in high-risk operational environments Ability to direct crews, enforce procedures, and maintain professionalism under production pressure Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to work in fabrication shops and outdoor yard environments Ability to walk uneven surfaces, climb ladders or structures, and stand for extended periods Occasional travel between company facilities or project locations as required Reporting This position will report directly to the Corporate Superintendent with day-to-day reporting to Shop Superintendents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Demonstrated experience planning and supervising critical or high-risk lifts in active industrial environments
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, lift plans, specifications, and crane load charts
