About The Position

The Critical Facility Technician III, HVAC ensures the smooth, efficient, profitable operation of the assigned building project by ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all required work and by attaining the utmost in customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of HVAC experience, including residential and commercial experience.
  • HVAC experience in Data centers and/or large hyperscale industrial/manufacturing environments.
  • Possess an unrestricted/unexpired license if required by the state, county or city jurisdiction.
  • EPA 608 Certification.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid, unexpired driver's license.
  • Hands-on electrical or mechanical skills.
  • Competence in the area of non-expertise.
  • Knowledge and experience using basic computer applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 10 years of Commercial HVAC experience (Journeyman level).
  • Possess a HVAC Journeyman License if required by state/local jurisdictions.
  • 1+ years of experience in Data Centers and/or Hyperscale Industrial/Manufacturing environments.
  • Mechanical OEM factory specific training or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring that all mechanical equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues.
  • Act as a singular focal point for all facility operations within a given data center and support operated data centers.
  • Ensure that data center equipment supporting mission-critical servers maintains better than 99.999% uptime.
  • Ensure all work performed within mission critical space is done to high quality and without impact to internal/external customers.
  • Transfer knowledge and train other technicians.
  • Utilize safe working practices including lockout/tagout and good housekeeping methods.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, floor plans, construction documents, safety requirements, OEM operating and maintenance instructions, job specifications, and MOPs.
  • Troubleshoot all types of HVAC mechanical equipment.
  • Use hand tools and test equipment to install, troubleshoot, and repair new or replacement parts for existing units.
  • Perform daily walk-through of facility documenting parameters such as temperature and humidity.
  • Monitor and make necessary changes to site BAS, following site MOP's & SOPs.
  • Implement all site-specific processes and procedures.
  • Understand the sequence of operations and the impact of critical equipment failures on other systems.
  • Lead drills associated with site primary and secondary EOP's.
  • Organize safe maintenance principles for regulating and scheduling planned and unplanned activities.
  • Interpret building codes and local and federal regulations related to installations.
  • Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations.
  • Coordinate and oversee all critical environment vendors during maintenance, emergency, and break/fix events.
  • Perform periodic technical and quality reviews of all MOPs and SOPs.
  • Collect and generate internal and vendor field service reports.
  • Provide technical expertise and assistance.
  • Operate site facility equipment and systems without error.
  • Provide suggestions for continuous improvements in process and cost reduction.
  • Respond to emergency situations and customer concerns.
  • Ensure strict adherence to critical facility work rules and safety procedures.
  • Work overtime as assigned and required.
  • Interact effectively with internal and external customers.
