About The Position

The Critical Facilities Engineer IV at Equinix plays a vital role in maintaining the infrastructure of data centers, which are considered critical facilities. Requirements

• 2+ years commercial MEP (mechanical/HVAC and/or electrician) experience
• High School Diploma
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Experience working in a critical facility/mission critical environment preferred
• Ability to lift heavy equipment/items up to 50 pounds
• Availability to work night shift

Responsibilities

• Maintains datacenter infrastructure systems in a mission-critical environment.
• Operates, maintains, and repairs HVAC systems, plumbing, fire control and suppression, roofing systems, and exterior grounds.
• Evaluates facility standards and practices to ensure efficient operations.
• Responds to emergency situations and ensures rapid corrective measures.
• Participates in the planning and installation of new facility systems.
• Performs preventative and corrective maintenance checks on-site.
• Monitors and resolves Building Monitoring System (BMS) alarm issues.
• Supports the work approval process for vendors/service providers on maintenance work.
• Completes routine work requests and circuit installations, troubleshooting and maintaining office equipment as needed.
• Collaborates with others to resolve moderately difficult facility incidents.
