About The Position

The Critical Facilities Construction Manager I supports the coordination of site engineering, permitting, construction, and commissioning activities for Uniti Fiber critical facilities in accordance with Uniti Construction Standards. This role assists more senior managers with ensuring projects comply with zoning, building codes, environmental regulations, utility requirements, and Uniti design standards while meeting cost, quality, safety, and schedule objectives.

Requirements

  • A general contractor’s license
  • College degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field and 0–2 years of professional‑level experience; or 4+ years of professional‑level related engineering/technical or construction experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional‑level related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to site engineering, permitting, or geotechnical coordination work
  • Experience working with local jurisdictions on building, zoning, or right‑of‑way permits
  • Familiarity with CAD/MicroStation/AutoCAD or other design tools

Responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring all assigned sites are developed and built in accordance with Uniti’s Construction Standards, including requirements for site engineering, permitting, power, grounding, and modular structures
  • Work with geotechnical vendors to schedule borings, soil sampling, and analysis, and ensure results are incorporated into foundation and drainage design
  • Oversee implementation of grounding and bonding requirements, including ground rings, DC plant grounding, and fence bonding in accordance with the standards and NEC
  • Support placement of modular shelters and cabinets in accordance with engineered rigging and crane plans, ensuring proper foundation readiness and safety compliance
  • Monitor construction contractors to ensure adherence to approved plans, conduit and cable installation methods, depth requirements, and overall workmanship and safety expectations
  • Assist in ensuring daily site closeout expectations are met, including OSHA safety adherence, site security, and proper documentation of progress and issues
  • Support completion of POP construction punch lists, ensuring remediation of items such as stormwater, gravel, lighting, grounding, landscaping, debris removal, and test results
  • Assist in ensuring timely collection and submission of as‑built documentation to GIS and other repositories within required timeframes after construction completion
