Requirements

  • 6+ years of technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) of technical engineering experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years of technical engineering experience OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Experience in critical environment and industry standards and practices.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical solutions and concepts to engineers and non-engineers.
  • Ability to interpret line drawings and system redundancies for LOTO systems compliance.
  • Experience in the Control of Hazardous Energy in complex mission critical infrastructure.
  • Experience with the operation and maintenance of building MEP systems.
  • Understanding of electrical theory and practical application in critical electrical equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques, terminology, and documentation.
  • Practical experience with building management systems and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and assures the overall compliance of Microsoft's Energy Isolation Program.
  • Establishes acceptance criteria for authorizing campus Energy Isolation Plan.
  • Implements learnings and drives rigor into Microsoft's Energy Isolation program to meet safety policy requirements.
  • Utilizes local code and standards as the foundation for the Energy Isolation program.
  • Establishes a centralized Lockout Tag Out (LOTO) procedure with all campus entities.
  • Commences energy isolation activities with continuous updates.
  • Liaises with the Microsoft construction team regarding potential impacts on data center operations.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in energy isolation incident investigations.
  • Participates in high-risk activity planning meetings associated with energy isolation.
  • Ensures high-risk SOWs, SOPs, and MOPs are reviewed and all sources of energy are identified.
  • Establishes a process to verify qualifications, training, and PPE for personnel performing the work.
  • Generates monthly reports highlighting activities and the general status of the energy isolation program.
