About The Position

The Critical Care Transport Supervisor-Unit provides management for unit transport operations as well as clinical and financial performance, in collaboration with the staff and leadership. This individual is responsible for continued review and adherence to clinical protocols to align with best practices. The Critical Care Transport Supervisor-Unit works adheres to all state regulations, along with established system policies and procedures. This individual plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities and services to promote clinical excellence and program growth and development. The Critical Care Transport Supervisor-Unit serves as a leader and role model for staff and is an active participant in process improvement and decision-making. The skills and functions of the Supervisor are both managerial as well as clinical nursing practice based.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Associate degree for paramedic or Diploma, Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Three years’ of critical care experience, emergency department and or intensive care experience.
  • Ground transport experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as verified through appropriate licensing agency.
  • Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to MCHS's insurer.
  • Possession of a current applicable State Registered Nurse license, Nurse Compact License or Paramedic base on location, multiple licenses may be required.
  • IF Paramedic Licensed, obtain Critical Care Paramedic Certification awarded by the State of licensure within one year of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association within three months of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics within six months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications provided by the American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification provided by the American Heart Association.
  • Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification (EVOC), Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO), or Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT) within two years of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • One of the following certifications: Registered Nurse. Certified Flight Registered Nurse. Certified Transport Registered Nurse. Critical Care Registered Nurse. Certified Emergency Nurse.
