About The Position

The Critical Care Technician in the ICU/IMU is responsible for providing high-quality, cost-effective healthcare through direct patient care and collaboration with healthcare team members. This role involves various patient care tasks, documentation, and ensuring the proper handling of medical orders and supplies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant through Maryland Board of Nursing.
• American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Participates in patient care data collection and unit-specific treatments as directed by staff nurse.
• Performs IV's, phlebotomy, 12 lead EKG, vital signs, wound care, skin care, oral care, and trach care.
• Reports abnormal observations to assigned RN/charge nurse.
• Processes written medical staff orders in accordance with established policy and procedure.
• Documents all care and treatment provided to patients using computerized documentation.
• Transports medications during the usual course of transporting patients within the institution.
• Maintains adequate levels of supplies and equipment as defined by the unit.
