About The Position

The position involves various accountabilities related to the post-operative, operative, and pre-operative phases of patient care in the anesthesia department. Post-operatively, the individual participates in the training and orientation of new staff members and prepares anesthesia equipment for subsequent use. During operative procedures, the role requires applying all equipment used in the care of anesthetized patients and performing duties as directed by the Anesthesiologist, Nurse Anesthetists, or lead technician. Pre-operatively, the individual acts as a member of the anesthesia team, preparing the patient and machine interface for anesthesia delivery and assisting in the sterile preparation of the patient for monitoring line placements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Associates Degree in Anesthesia Technology OR two (2) years' experience in an Anesthesia Tech or Critical Care Tech role (Required)
• Completion of Anesthesia Tech Program (Preferred)
• ACLS Certification or Certification by the American Association of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists (ASATT) (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Participate in the training and orientation of new staff members to the operating room setting.
• Prepare anesthesia equipment for subsequent use after each case.
• Apply all equipment used in the operative care of the anesthetized patient.
• Perform duties at the direction of the Anesthesiologist, Nurse Anesthetists, or lead technician.
• Prepare the patient/machine interface for the delivery of anesthesia during surgery.
• Assist in the sterile and aseptic preparation of the patient for monitoring line placements.
