Overview The Children's Mercy Division of Emergency provides the highest level of care to sick and injured children and adolescents of the Kansas City region. Our Adele Hall Campus location is a verified Level I Trauma Center, accredited by the American College of Surgeons, and includes the Emergency Mental Health Crisis Center, a dedicated, calm and safe space for patients experiencing a mental health crisis. Critical care registered nurses provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require intensive care. Critical care registered staff nurses utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age appropriate nursing care for their assigned patients in the intensive care areas of the hospital. Critical care registered staff nurses provide patient and family education and advocate for their needs, while coordinating patient care with nonprofessional personnel as necessary. Requirements

• Associate's Degree ADN Required. Current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role.
• 1-2 years experience 1-2 years of experience preferred or Bachelor's Degree Preferred for all nurses hired after September 1, 2013. Nurses hired after this date without a BSN, must complete their degree within 5 years of their hire date.
• No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training
• One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
• One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
• RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
• Employees must obtain Licensed RN - Kansas or equivalent within 90 days
• Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire

• Specialty Nursing Certification encouraged for all eligible nurses
