The Critical Care Transport Registered Nurse (CCTRN) will provide advanced interfacility patient care in a prehospital setting ranging from initial contact until care is relinquished at the accepting medical facility. The CCTRN maintains thorough patient care documentation of assessment and intervention throughout the entire transport and will practice within the scope of protocol as defined by Bozeman Health Emergency Services. The CCTRN will demonstrate proficient clinical knowledge and competency of clinical skills during transport and will maintain active participation meeting organizational expectations with ongoing advanced skills laboratories, hand-on clinical exercises and clinical rotations through various units including the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. The CCTRN will act as a clinical role model and resource to resolve complex situations and patient care issues. The CCTRN will participate in improvement activities and problem-solving projects as assigned by the leadership team and communicate any safety concerns to the leadership team. Further, the CCTRN will serve as a lesion for critical access community hospitals with a high emphasis on educational needs of those communities Bozeman Health partners and serves alongside with, ensuring to deliver stellar customer service to both internal and external customers. As a CCTRN on our transport team, you will be part of a dedicated team providing advanced care to critically ill patients. Our team is comprised of an EMT/AEMT, ALS or Critical Care Paramedic (CCP), and a Critical Care Nurse. Our fully functional critical care ground ambulance is equipped with essential tools for advanced care, full monitoring capability with invasive hemodynamic values, specialized equipment such as Hamilton T1 ventilator, iSTAT, Medtronic pacemaker, High flow Nasal Cannula, IV medication pump, a vast number of medications, and knowledge to operate VAD, Impella, IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump). Position Summary: The Registered Nurse – Interfacility Transport provides advanced and critical care during interfacility transports for high-acuity patients from initial contact through handoff at the accepting facility. Working within the State of Montana scope of practice and Bozeman Health Emergency Services protocols, the Registered Nurse partners with the Paramedic teammate and EMT/AEMT to assess, treat, and continuously monitor patients while maintaining a safe transport environment. The role ensures clear communication with dispatch and clinical teams, completes accurate and timely documentation, and maintains consistent readiness of the ambulance and transport equipment.
