About The Position

The Critical Care Paramedic (CCT) position involves responding to both emergent and non-emergent medical calls, providing high-quality patient care in accordance with company policies and protocols. The role requires the use of advanced medical equipment and procedures to ensure safe and effective patient transport and care. The paramedic will assess situations, manage pharmacologic infusions, perform advanced surgical procedures, and communicate effectively with patients and medical facilities. The position also includes responsibilities for vehicle operation, equipment maintenance, documentation, and community engagement.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 3 to 5 years of experience as a field Paramedic.
• High school diploma or equivalent GED.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong decision-making skills.
• Valid Driver's License with an MVR that meets Company Standards.
• State Paramedic CCT Certification, BLS/CPR, ACLS, ITLA, PHTLS, ATLS, PALS, PEPP and PCC certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Some advanced education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action.
• Utilize medical equipment including defibrillator, EKG monitor, ventilators, IV pumps, and more.
• Perform CPR and other medical procedures as required.
• Manage complicated pharmacologic infusions.
• Utilize advanced surgical procedures, e.g., escharotomy, cricothyrotomy.
• Communicate with receiving facility for medical direction.
• Act as team leader and take responsibility for scene and unit management.
• Drive the ambulance and provide navigation assistance.
• Maintain all required certifications and complete training.
• Document all patient assessments and care provided during each call.
• Participate in community programs to maintain the Company's image.
• Assist with cleaning and restocking the ambulance.
