About The Position
The Internal Medicine Critical Care position in Waterloo, Iowa, offers a unique opportunity for a Board Eligible/Board Certified Intensivist to join a well-established practice within a supportive health system. This full-time and permanent role is designed for a physician who is ready to engage in a dynamic environment with instant patient volume and established referral patterns. The position entails a balanced schedule of one week in the hospital followed by two weeks in the clinic, allowing for a comprehensive approach to patient care. The clinic is conveniently located on the hospital campus, facilitating seamless collaboration with other healthcare professionals. In addition to critical care responsibilities, there is an option for the physician to engage in sleep medicine if they are a board-certified sleep physician. The health system is a non-profit organization that qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, making it an attractive option for those looking to manage their student debt while pursuing a fulfilling career in medicine. The employed multi-specialty group consists of over 180 providers, including physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, ensuring a collaborative and supportive work environment. The compensation package is competitive, featuring a $530,000 guarantee for the first three years, along with various bonuses including a $20,000 signing bonus, a $100,000 starting bonus, and a $30,000 longevity bonus at the beginning of the second year. Additional benefits include a relocation allowance of $15,000, employer-paid malpractice and tail coverage, and comprehensive health insurance options. The position also allows for up to 31 days off per year while on guarantee, along with a CME allowance of $5,000 per year, promoting ongoing professional development and work-life balance.
