Critical Care Nurse responsibilities include: - Performing advanced assessments and developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans - Providing advanced life support, including ventilator management - Assisting physicians with procedures and interventions - Observing and documenting patient vital signs, intake, and output every hour - Ensuring proper functioning of ventilators, monitors, and other critical medical equipment - Administering continuous vasoactive and cardiac medications - Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests as appropriate - Collaborating closely with physicians and members of the critical care team - Delivering care aligned with nursing standards and Hospital/ICU protocols - Serving as a patient advocate - Providing education and emotional support to patients and their families - Caring for both medical and surgical ICU patients - Managing the care of immediate post‑operative patients - Responding to Rapid Response calls and medical emergencies across the medical campus - Participating in end‑of‑life discussions and working closely with - Palliative Care and Hospice teams - Administering and monitoring CRRT therapy Who Thrives Here? Requirements

  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time oncology nursing experience; or
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time critical care experience; or
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting; or
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting and completion of Roswell Park nursing orientation with the ability to function independently at a satisfactory level for three (3) months (full-time) as a Nurse I at Roswell Park.
  • Incumbents will serve a one (1) year full-time probationary period as a Nurse II.
  • Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.

Nice To Haves

  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a critical care or intensive care setting, which is strongly preferred.
