About The Position

Northeast Counseling Services is the mental health crisis service provider for central and southern Luzerne County. We are currently seeking individuals to become part of our team providing assessments on mental health clients seeking help. The Walk-In Crisis Worker provides in-person and telephone assessment and intervention for adults, children & adolescents experiencing psychiatric emergencies.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in social work, psychology, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or a Bachelor's Degree in a human services field or Registered Nurse.
• Working knowledge of the philosophy, concepts, mandates, and operations of community mental health services and/or related human services delivery.
• Proficient in writing and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
• Ability to interact with the public.

• Bilingual ability (additional remuneration of $2500).
• Years of experience (additional remuneration offered).
